I haven't made a public post in months (not that I post much anyway), so, here's an announcement thingie that my journal seems to have become friends only.

She's 3 years old, came into the shelter in November as a pregnant stray, had her kittens, went to foster home, came back, had upper respiratory infection, recovered, and now came home with me :D

She's really shy and nervous, although moreso of her new environment rather than of me. She lets me pet her and pick her up but she doesn't come out from under the bed for very long at a time. Hopefully soon she'll adjust.

So I was all excited yesterday when it snowed in Barrie. Then return to Toronto today and no snow :< But I just looked out the window and now it's snowing here too!

man, that is awesome, if you have any other ideas that you would like to exploit, then e-mail them to me and I will see if I could find a good buyer for them. My friend can even make them into posters for you. :) BTW, did you say prismacolor crayolas? I wasn't aware they sold those anymore.

Uh, what?

This time a telemarketer. She asked for Mr Day, so I said there's no one that lives here by that name. Then she started babbling about what she was selling (tickets to a recreation of the 1972 Canada-USSR hockey game, which she said apparantly I don't know about because I'm too young, wtf), then says because Mr Day was such a huge contributor to charity, that's why he's being offered these tickets. I'm like... WTF? Tell her there's no Mr Day here, she says, "oh, well, it's someone Day, Mrs Day, E Day?" So I tell her, "that's me. But I'm not a Mr or a Mrs and I've never contributed to charity." So then she was just confused as I was, saying that she had a list of all the people who had contributed to the Hockey Hall of Fame or something and I was on it. So she apologized profusely and went away. No idea what was up with that. o_O

I got a job :o

Web assistant at the exchange office. Basically revamping their website from what it seems. I will have a partner but other than that it seems awesome. Finally a job doing something cool that doesn't deal with customers! =D Also money is good, of course, even though I have no idea how much they're giving me. Orientation on Friday so will find out stuff then.

It's interesting that they picked me for web design... I said at the interview that I would be interested in any of the positions, so they asked about my technological proficiency and I gave them my website address and all that, but I really wasn't expecting to get hired. I was expecting my qualifications would be really low seeing that we have a comp sci program and whatnot here, but oh well... I hope I can perform job functions well, like that they don't want super-complicated stuff x_x; Well, hopefully my coworker will know stuff too, maybe I can learn something.

What it comes down to is: I'm getting paid to do something I normally do for fun =D

It's finally not stupid hot every day so that makes me happy too =D

I made a new friend today. It's "I won't give up" phone lady =D

1 - She asks for Michaela (sp?). I tell her she has the wrong number. We both hang up.
(~30 seconds pass)
2 - She asks for Michaela. I tell her, "you still have the wrong number." We both hang up.
(~30 seconds pass)
3 - She asks for Michaela. I tell her AGAIN she has the wrong number. She asks, "Isn't this ###-####?" I say, "yes, but it no longer belongs to who you're looking for." We both hang up.
(~1 minute passes)
4 - She asks for Michaela. I tell her YET AGAIN she has the wrong number. Again, she asks, "But isn't this ###-####?" I say, "it is, but they don't live here!" We both hang up.
(~1 minute passes)
5 - She asks for Michaela. I lose my patience with her stupidity and tell her, "Michaela doesn't live here. This is not their phone number. PLEASE STOP CALLING!" She says, "okay, sorrrry" in an annoyed way, and we both hang up.

So, it's been about ten minutes since that, I think I'm in the clear. But really now! She couldn't figure it out after the second or third time, even just by having the same person pick up the phone, that in fact she should try a different number? BAH. D:<

In other news, it's a good thing my boyfriend comes to visit, because otherwise I would never clean my apartment. I even cleaned the toilet!! This is a big thing for me x_x

Okay, my friends and family can stop being ashamed to know me now, since Canadian Idol is over. Yeah, I got pretty hooked on it this season. I was just planning on watching the first couple audition shows because it's funny to see the sucky people get yelled at (I guess that makes me cruel. hmm.... ^^; ) Anyway, I'm happy with who won; honestly I would've been happy with any of the Top 10 winning (except for Casey. I hate Casey so much. I don't know how she got so far. arghhhrrrr.) And I want Suzi's hair. And Rex is hot. The end. :x

Dunno what I'll watch now... TV is so boring. Law and Order reruns and House is about it. I miss Buffy and Third Watch ;_;

Today was my last first day of school. Well, not counting next semester.

Chinese lit = will be boring.
Chinese hist = might be boring.
Arctic arch = could be decent.

Tomorrow is Japanese. It'll be terrible because I haven't reviewed at all. For speaking/listening I guess I'll be okay, but my vocab sucks... Then I'll be totally screwed on Wednesday in reading/writing. Kanji auuuuuuuuughhhhhhhhh. I really wish I knew what was taught in the 300 level class so I knew where I stood. Komurosensei said I'd be okay but that was based on what, a 10min conversation? So yeah... Who knows v_v;;;

On the good side of things, Advent Children :0~ I'm saving my bandwidth so will wait until the weekend to watch it. But still... /slur

(yes, I have degraded into using RO emoticons even when not in RO. it's quite sad. /swt)

Going back to Toronto tomorrow. Kinda conflicted about whether or not I'm looking forward to it... I like people here but other than that I don't know. It's nice to have my own apartment/independence/etc. Not terribly looking forward to school, though. Especially Mondays, where I'll have to be there for 8 hours, ugh. Oh well.

We just watched A Very Long Engagement, which was rather good. First good movie I've seen in awhile, actually. (Boyfriend keeps buying cheap DVDs with 3-4 movies each, which vary from terrible to not bad, but it's nice to have something that actually tugs on one's heartstrings, I guess.)

I had cosmetic surgery the other day! Got two moles I've had since birth removed. Pretty painless. But I guess I'm so shallow now D:

I just wrote an email to one of my sensei in romaji because this computer has no Japanese currently installed. And it's soooo weiiiirddd looooking. @_@ I really don't like romaji. Also, my Japanese has decayed so much since I never use it anymore. I'm going to die in class. It's terrible.

I've decided to take the JLPT this year, attempting 2kyu. DEEEAAAATHHH for sure.

Also going to apply for job(s) at the ISXO, since I meet the qualifier of having OSAP funding. Should be kinda neat, but who knows whether I'll get it or not. Money is good but I don't want to get any sort of retail etc job where I'll want to stab myself every night. Sigh. More people need to give me money for art, that would be neat. D:
